      A lot of my work is indepdendent but I work in a research group of 8 people and colloborate with other academics.

      Yes, science is all about teamwork! At the moment, I work closely with my supervisor to do lab work, but I collaborate a lot with industry to make sure that the work I do aligns with their interests. I also work with people in other research groups when I need to use their facilities or teach undergraduate students.

      From a social side, a lot of science gets discussed over a cup of coffee or in other social settings! Many scientists need a shot or two or espresso in the morning to function for the day.

    Yes, I work with my team of inspectors and we have various social events though the year. They are all lovely so enjoy catching up with everyone int he office. A lot of my work is ‘single handed’ so I work on my own so I make sure I build in time to see the rest of the team or to chat to them on Teams
