We manufacture using carbon fibre, glass fibre, epoxy resins and PET plastic. We have lots of different types of materials in different formats too.

I test and look at a lot of different materials. Mainly different plastics, rubbers and fabrics that can be used for everything from seals and hoses to life jackets. I also work with fuels and oils.

I currently work with platinum group metals (PGMs) as 5 nm (carbon and various metal oxides). These are combined with a polymer electrolyte such as teflon (like the stuff in many non-stick pans) that has covalent attached sulfonic acid sidechains. These materials are typical for a water electrolysis or fuel cell device. However we also perform experiments using liquid electrolyte like inorganic acids and use specialised equipment with gas controls to compare the function of the PGM catalysts.
