Question: What do you think is the most exciting area of science right now?

For me, it is probably genetics/genomic, mainly because I think it will be crucial in addressing world hunger through crop improvements, for example to increase their ability to survive prolonged droughts, temperatures or flooding. Also – and I am no computer scientist – but it’s hard to deny that the advances in AI are cutting edge and opening up new possibilities as well as challenges to society.
