First introduction to biology is usually to talk about animals and the animal kingdom and it’s classifications, as well as ecology, and it wasn’t really my thing. Then, even when we started human biology, it was usually anatomy and it was cool, but I think I preferred chemistry because in anatomy, no one explains why. Why are things happening that way, why are drugs working, how is a muscle moving, etc. Once I got further into my chemistry studies, learning about how the tiny molecules in our bodies interact that I started to have a real appreciation for biochemistry and drug discovery!
