      Not quite. I use flies in experiments, which are alive so very important for looking at how disease affects a body, but they don’t experience pain in the way animals do. It means that we can test lots of things (like medicines) quickly in flies and then only the best ones will be tested on animals like mice, so that people don’t have to give mice drugs that will hurt them or drugs that won’t work
