How I use Science in my work:
I use science to study nature by measuring habitats, tracking insects like butterflies, and looking at data such as carbon and waste. It’s a bit like the experiments you do in school — observing, recording results, and using evidence to understand the world better.
-
My Work:
I work on biodiversity and habitat mapping using QGIS, creating spatial maps of wildflower zones and supporting staff engagement through events like butterfly monitoring. I also look into waste streams, carbon data, and environmental management, and I’m developing a sustainability tool to help labs become more eco‑friendly.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
f I won £500, I’d use it to build bug hotels and bee houses. This would help children and staff at forest school learn more about nature, insects, and how we can protect them. It’s a fun way to connect STEM with the outdoors and show how science helps the environment.
