My Work:
I work on skeletal muscle cells and treat them with different drugs to see how this changes the way the muscle cells use nutrients and whether this can prevent muscle loss in disease.
-
My Typical Day:
I start by coming in to the lab around 9am, checking my emails and planning what I need to do for the day. I will then check my muscle cells to make sure they are growing, and feed them to keep them alive! I will then carry out some experiments before having lunch with friends. After that it’s back into the lab to finish off my experiments and analyse my data. I usually leave around 5pm.
