Question: does the universe go on forever will it stop or will it start going backwards recied into nothing destroying all planets and then creating the big bang again
From a cosmologist’s perspective, the universe is currently expanding and is likely to continue doing so indefinitely due to dark energy. It currently doesn’t seem like it will stop or recede into nothing, nor is it expected to reverse into a “big crunch.” Instead, the universe may keep expanding, leading to a cold and dilute state known as the “heat death.” As those are theoretical models, the expansion of the universe is actively being tested with large galaxy surveys that track how structures are growing. Regarding the early universe there is more speculation and some theories work with a “bounce” from a contracting universe to an expanding one as during the big bang.
