      For a job doing research in a university it depends on your level of experience. If you have an undergraduate degree or a masters degree it will vary depending on your prior experience (usually ~£20-30k). You also usually get paid to do a PhD (at the moment that’s ~£21k). If you have a PhD your starting salary would be higher (~£40k).

      It really depends on the company and sector you are working in. But on average in control systems, a new graduate can get around £27k while an apprentice could start on £18k.
