I definitely would! Depending on what your field of research is, there are many different places across the UK and around the world that have specialised places or research groups that are interested in certain things or have certain facilities that might be better than what you have at the moment. For example, I work in radio astronomy using ground based telescopes and I work at Jodrell Bank which has a lot of research in radio astronomy because of the Lovell telescope being there. With observational astrophysics, it can be slightly more easy to work from anywhere because its data on your computer that you are working with. But for more lab based work, you might require special machinery that your lab does / does not have so you might have to look for places that have the right equipment for you.
