      It is not likely that AI will ‘take over the world’ in the sense of Skynet in the Terminator films.
      However, it will in all likelihood have major impacts. We still don’t really know (as a species) how best to use the AI that has been developed so far. and AI is still developing. Also, AI is very energy-hungry so in an era when many people are environmentally conscious it is incongruous that so many people blithely use AI despite its impact. Just one AI datacentre in the UK will make a carbon footprint bigger than that which British Airways creates from its flying)!

      (Ironically, Skynet’s the name of a Royal Air Force satellite system (from before the Terminator films) and that hasn’t tried to take over the world)
