I personally haven’t found any meteorite yet. I have just seen/used pieces of the ones already found by other scientists. However, I knopw that the biggest single meteorite ever found is the Hoba meteorite, which weighs over 60 tons (60,000 kg) and is located in Namibia.
I haven’t found any meteorites myself, however, I have worked with a 3-gram piece of Allende. The total weight of Allende when it landed on Earth was 2000kg.
I would one dat like to help find meteorites in Antarctica! This is where a large amount of NASAs samples are collected.
I’ve never found one myself (yet!) but I have taken part in two meteorite hunts un the UK which were sadly unsuccessful. The best places in the world to look for meteorites is the desert – North west Africa, Antarctica and the Nullabor in Australia to name some of the big ones
