  I am trying to understand how a galaxies environment impacts stars when they come to the end of their main lifetime (become unstable and then expload!) – they leave behind a shell or remnant that expands and interacts with the galaxy environment. Whether a busy environment slows down the expansion of the shell or speeds it up!
