I enjoy looking at all the data we collect and using it to design the next targets to make. We measure the activity of the new compounds for the particular disease were interested in as well how stable that are in the presence of enzymes found in the body (liver) along with other tests and use that data to design better compounds.
I don’t make many compounds these days but chemistry is a practical science where we make the molecules to test and that is an art in itself, sometimes challenging and very rewarding.
