      The current project I’m working on is really interesting. We are trialling and improving sensors that measure pH and carbon concentration in the ocean that can specifically be used on underwater robots.

      I once worked offshore in Greenland carrying out a marine seismic survey. It was a stunning place to do a survey and when we were alongside we were very lucky to explore small villages and towns

    I loved the field work for my PhD, which involved spending months at a time in a remote part of Africa, learning about how people use horses to support their daily lives. The issues which the horses and owners face are very different from what I learned about at vet school, so it was a steep learning curve from a vet point of view, as well as learning about a totally different culture/social situation. The country itself is beautiful too, so all in all, despite the work being physically and emotionally challenging, it was the best job I’ve ever had.
