There are some very long-living animals around, some of which we might recognise and others which are not so familiar.
Some species of whales can live for well over 100 years and there are some breeds of tortoise in the Galapagos Island (in the Pacific Ocean) that also live for up to 200 years (this is average, of course each individual animal varies, in the same way that individual people have different lengths of life) There are several species of fish, including sharks, which are also reported to live well over 100 years. And don’t forget there are other sea dwelling creatures like jellyfish and corals (if you’re like me, you might not immediately think that corals are animals, but they are!) which live extremely long lives too.
