I would like to see the Bramble Cay melomys – a small rodent from a sandy Australian island. It went extinct only ten years ago because of the rising water levels linked to climate change – the island on which it lived got flooded, and that was it.
I would like to figure out if there’s any way in which we could have prevented the extinction.
I would like to see a hairy mammoth – I think elephants are amazing so I’d be interested to see how similar or different mammoths were compared to elephants.
I’d rather like to meet the ancestors, so perhaps the Rift Valley 2 or 2.5 million years ago when there seems to have been a whole variety of australopithecines, paranthropuses (paranthropi?) and early homo. It would be rather fascinating to see where we came from and what we’ve inherited from them. To see also some of the paths not taken, the other humans we could have been.
