Worms are a lot bigger than bacteria or viruses, so the immune system needs something different to kill them! Some immune cells can produce toxic granules that can surround and break down the worm. The method I research is mucus, a gel made by special cells in the lung and intestines (and more)! The immune system can trigger more mucus to be made, which then refreshes faster and sweeps the worms away from the surfaces.
