There are elements of being a scientist that are tricky. Research can go wrong or be difficult and you can end up occasionally working long and unsociable hours. However, I feel very well supported in my role by my University and know where I can access tools if I need it! I haven’t had any issues with my mental health in relation to my work as a scientist.
