• Question: As a student who hasn't been in school, can I study that course in the uni?

      I did a science degree and typically you need A levels in relevant subjects, however, there are many paths into science. One of my lecturers left school at 16 to be in a band and never reentered formal education except as a teacher

      I think it depends on the subject and the entry requirements of the uni – some are happy to have any science, some are particular about which subject you need.

    I currently teach Apprenticeships to individuals working in the NHS, many have no formal qualifications from school or some were home schooled and have no formal qualifications (we teach maths and English alongside). Students can work their way up the levels while getting amazing on the job training opportunities, we specialise in inclusive curriculum for learners that need additional support as well.

    One of my students is having their interview with University next week as my qualification has helped them obtain the required UCAS points to be accepted.

    If interested in STEM careers and possible Healthcare, I would be looking at your local NHS Trust and having a conversation.
