I currently teach Apprenticeships to individuals working in the NHS, many have no formal qualifications from school or some were home schooled and have no formal qualifications (we teach maths and English alongside). Students can work their way up the levels while getting amazing on the job training opportunities, we specialise in inclusive curriculum for learners that need additional support as well.
One of my students is having their interview with University next week as my qualification has helped them obtain the required UCAS points to be accepted.
If interested in STEM careers and possible Healthcare, I would be looking at your local NHS Trust and having a conversation.

Traditionally veterinary surgeon courses have required science A Levels with high grades but several of the universities who offer veterinary degrees have access courses which consider students with different backgrounds. For veterinary nursing, similarly, they traditionally asked for science A levels but they are now more flexible, especially if you have relevant work experience and can explain your interest in the veterinary world. If veterinary subjects are something that interest you I’d recommend getting in touch with the University of Central Lancashire, who are very keen to consider applications for veterinary courses from people with different educational/social circumstances.
