My Typical Day:
I’ll get up, get dressed and have breakfast. Get to work for around 07:00 AM, plan the flights for the day then head to the helicopter and go flying.

Most days we do 3 flights, each around 2 hours long going into airport all around the country. I usually stay in hotels throughout the week and only come home at the end of the week after each different sector has been surveyed.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would want to set up an outreach day where students can visit an aerodrome, see the helicopters, discover everything a pilot does and also what you need to do to become a pilot.

I lived in France for most of my life and did all my schooling there. I even went to university there (Universite de Poitiers) and did 2 years of Psychology before dropping out.
I then went to cullinary school to learn cheffing then worked as a chef for 8 years.
I then went to flight school here in the UK to train to become a pilot. -
Qualifications:
Litterary Baccalaureat (equivalent of A levels)
French cullinary arts certificate
CPL(H) Commercial Pilots License (Helicopter) and ATPL(H) Airline Transport Pilots License (Helicopter)

Work History:
When I finished school I thought becoming a psychologist would be an interesting job and studied that at university for 2 years before realising that it wasn’t for me so I dropped out without finishing my course and decided to work as a chef instead because I love cooking. I did that for 8 years but grew tired of the long and unsocial hours as well as little reward for all of my hard work. That’s when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot.
-
Current Job:
I do Gas Pipeline Survey flights as well as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) at a flight school teaching ground school subjects to new student pilots.
-
Employer:
Self employed working as a contractor for different aviation operators.
