I think so yeah! There are some times disagreements with my supervisor but I think that’s to be expected, either we’ve expected different things from each other or we have different ways of approaching things, like structuring reports or scientific papers. But this is normal for sure and just part of work

Good question; are you training to become a therapist? 😅

Personally, I get on well with my team but I prefer to keep my work and private life separate, so I don’t usually talk to colleagues outside of work. If I do spend time with people from my company, it’s usually if they work in a different department where I don’t see them day-to-day. Just personal preference.

But yes, it helps that there is usually enough common ground in what motivated us all to take similar jobs, so there isn’t much friction. It’s actually one of the main things that motivated me to apply here, after talking to people at a career’s fair and vibing with them.

Yes, because you usually end up working with like-minded people. It’s nice to have completely separate friends who you don’t see outside of work to give that divide. My other friends don’t see what I do in my job day-in day-out so it’s harder to talk to them about something at work that is bothering me. While it’s nice to have a good group of friends at work, I have worked at some places where I didn’t make many friends (if they were much older, etc…) and it didn’t stop me from enjoying the job.
