I don’t think I’ve ever discovered anything dangerous. The most dangerous situation was doing fieldwork collecting rock samples near a cliff, losing my footing, and sliding towards a large drop. In reality I wasn’t that close to going over the edge, but it felt super dangerous in the moment. A reminder of how important safety precautions are when doing practical science.
