Chemicals is a very broad term, everything around us, and us, are made of chemicals. Most medicines are what we call small molecules. They are relatively small chemicals, made mostly of Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen, which are the base elements of life on earth. Other medicines, like what I work on, are called biomolecules. They are more complex chemicals based on what your body already uses like DNA and proteins. And then you can even get to supramolecules and have very big and complex structures! Even at that point, on molecule is still invisible to the naked eye!
