Black holes aren’t good nor bad. They just exist as a natural object in the Universe. They can be dangerous to any objects close to one, pulling gas/dust/stars in due to the immense gravity. But, black holes are very useful for learning about physics, especially gravity, space and time.
They are useful in helping us understand stellar physics and general relativity similar to what Jade said! As well as learning about the end of the life times of the most massive stars we see in the Universe. They are very hard to see since they absorb everything (including light) near it, but I don’t think they are inherently good or bad 🙂
