That is a very hard question to answer, as it will all depend on the size and style of bridge. For smaller ones we are involved with mostly, it can be quite a quick process. We have worked on projects where the new bridge is built beside the existing one, then it is moved in over a weekend/craned into place. Then the rest of the works can take place before it opens. Even doing it this way would take a number of weeks to build it before moving into place. For larger ones though – years!
