PhD stands for Doctor of Philosophy but really it means that you have studied and researched for 4 years in a topic and you discover something new. Then you have to write up your findings into a book (mine was 250 pages) and then someone reads it and asks you questions, then decides whether or not you passed and can become a Doctor! It’s very different to being a medical doctor even though it sounds similar- very confusing!
